WU Pops is a Category I Student Group. This means we submit a budget each year to Student Union (SU) and are funded a certain amount of money. Most of this money covers the purchase of music for our members, as well as miscellaneous expenses such as food for the semester concert and concert hall security fees. Our budget from SU however, seldom allows us the means to purchase larger pieces of necessary equipment such as percussion instruments.

Acquiring such equipment is crucial to the improvement of WU Pops as a performance group. Extra funds also buffer our group from unforeseen budget crises where SU refuses to fund certain pieces of music (it has happened before). Therefore, your support to WU Pops will go a long way to forwarding our mission as the largest student provider of music performance opportunities on campus. We appreciate your commitment to promoting student involvement in music performance.
